I served as a high school English teacher in the South Bronx and Manhattan's Lower East Side for eight years, and as a cooperating teacher with The Reading and Writing Project at Teachers College at Columbia University, I helped develop and implement cutting edge literacy instruction. I am well versed in implementing inclusive practices, diversifying learning materials to meet needs and learning styles, developing rapport with students, and getting them to a place where they feel successful and excited about the progress they are making.
