I have worked in the field of education for over 17 years. I have experience in working with a multitude of students from various backgrounds and abilities. Throughout my career as an educator, I have been committed to helping students to use their strengths to overcome their weaknesses. To achieve this I facilitated a variety of instructional strategies such as differentiation, formal/informal assessment, strategic grouping, metacognitive awareness, data-driven instruction, and social emotional learning (PBIS). I included the use of district approved digital learning platforms and technologies to ensure that my students succeed at high levels in both academic and social settings. Furthermore, my instructional delivery incorporated Bloom’s Taxonomy as well as other critical thinking models through gradual release of responsibility. I also engaged in meaningful collaboration with parents, support staff, administrators, and fellow teachers to address student needs. Most importantly, I always made sure to celebrate student successes both on and off campus. My goal has always been to create a classroom culture that empowers ALL students not only to succeed at the present moment, but to become lifelong learners. This includes TEKS aligned instruction balanced with building positive relationships that allow students to experience ongoing success appropriate to their levels of ability and in real-world situations. I have always encouraged my students to have a growth mindset regardless of any obstacles or challenges they may confront throughout life. Thus, I look forward to contributing my knowledge and expertise to support your students.
