Hi parents! I am an Early Childhood teacher in New York City with a focus on gifted enrichment and instructional intervention in Literacy and Math. I bring 6+ years of classroom experience to my tutoring work; of those years I have spent 4 working with kindergartners. This experience allows me to support Pre-K students as they approach kindergarten, as well as promote emergent literacy skills during K, 1st and 2nd grade. With warmth and patience, I bring a strengths-based perspective to each student. I rely on regular check-ins with parents to gain a holistic picture of your child's needs, and am always glad to partner with other teachers or professionals in the child's life, in order to structure the most efficient and customized program. Most importantly, I believe that students learn best while having fun! So, I incorporate a game or activity into each session, allowing young children to reinforce skills while building on their natural sense of playfulness. I began my teaching career at NEST+m, a public Gifted and Talented program, before moving on to Hunter Elementary, another school for gifted children. I currently teach in a Universal Pre-K program in Astoria. I hold a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and advanced certification in Gifted Education from Hunter College, as well as my NY State certification in Early Childhood.
