Annery is a tenured NYC educator with over 10 years of experience working with students in elementary and middle school. She holds a Bachelors in Sociology and a Dual Masters in General and Special Education. She is also bilingual and certified to teach in Spanish. Annery specializes in making content accessible and in helping students hone in on the strategies that work for them. Her goal is to help ALL students become independent thinkers! Annery has co-taught reading, writing, science and social Studies. She has brought to each of her classes a focus on literacy in order to improve overall achievement. She is trained in research-based interventions that help both early and struggling readers decode words to build fluency. Such programs include REWARDS, Phonics For Reading and Wilson’s Fundations. She is also an expert in using high leverage instructional practices to boost reading comprehension across the disciplines. Additionally, Annery has successfully taught an intensive Spanish course to prepare 8th grade students to take and pass the Second Language Proficiency (SLP) Exam in Spanish. She is excited to bring her expertise to Brain Trust Tutors and continue to support students to reach their maximum potential.
