After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Technological University, April obtained her master’s in curriculum and instruction from Nova Southeastern University. A strong desire to empower teachers and students led April to receive an education specialist degree in instructional leadership from Tennessee Technological University. April has a diverse background as an educator of more than 26 years. She has taught in the first through eighth grades, related arts, and served as an RTI Coordinator/ Instructional Facilitator. She loves the relationships she builds with students as she serves as an assistant principal. April has received several accolades throughout her career while serving as a leader who is passionate about the growth and success of all students. April is a proud mother of two children. She considers being a mother her greatest blessing and enjoys life on the third-generation farm that she has called home all of her life. April enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with friends and her children on the lake or the farm. She has a tremendous love for learning and the magical experience of witnessing children reach their fullest potential.
