Bio
Austin Boehm is an educator who hails from Mahopac, New York. He holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a Master's in secondary math education. Austin enjoys the intersection of math and tehchnology, and at one point left the classroom to build online elementary math learning games at a USDE-funded start-up in Silicon Valley. After several years, Austin returned to teaching where he has now taught math for eight years. This has included work in public charter schools in Harlem and Phoenix, public schools in Arizona, and most recently teaching Pre-Algebra & Algebra 1 at Dwight School, a NYAIS located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Since the pandemic, he has taught both at Dwight Global (a fully remote, online school) and in small learning pods with grades 5-8 throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
He is excited about the opportunity to continue working with students in the upcoming year, facilitating content across multiple disciplines, and trying out a new model of education in the midst of the global pandemic. His interests outside of the classroom include backpacking, gardening, music, and playing sports.
