Dear Parents, I am no spring chicken, but teaching kids from Grade 1 - 12 as a learning specialist keeps me on my toes. As an Orton-Gillingham trained teacher and an Academic Language Therapist, I'm up to date with in-person teaching and all the imperatives -- tech and otherwise -- of remote teaching, too. For 16 years, I have been a learning specialist at the Brearley School in NYC while tutoring privately on afternoons and weekends. As of June, however, I will be retiring from school, and I am thrilled at the prospect of devoting all my time and energy to tutoring. Why do I do this? When kids succeed, I succeed, and that makes it fun and new every day.
