Hello, and welcome to my tutoring page! I have been a licensed K-8 teacher for more than ten years and have taught virtually for over six years. I have my Master's of Education in Learning and Technology and a bachelor's degree in K-8 Education. I am a nationally certified virtual educator as well. Utilizing technology tools for learning is my jam! I have so many great resources to use during tutoring sessions. I know how important it is to make virtual learning interactive, and fun to ensure students are engaged and focused. My lessons and energy level are adapted to meet every student's needs and ensure they are engaged with the content. I love making personal connections with my students too. It is so rewarding to see students grow and feel excited about their learning. It brings me great joy to see my students grow their confidence in themselves and in their learning. I have several years of experience teaching English Language Learners of all ages as well. One of my most cherished experiences was teaching in Lesotho, Africa with the Peace Corps for nearly three years. I am also a yoga teacher, world traveler (I've been to 18 countries), rock climber, and kitten foster mom. I live with my husband, and new son (born in July 2023) in Montana. Please reach out if you have any questions to see if I might be a good fit for your learner. Thank you!

We had our first 30-min class with Chelsea. She had a great energy and was very attuned to my 3yr olds attentiveness online. She balanced learning activities with movement/singing/etc to give “breaks” “intervals”. Chelsea listened, as my daughter would sometimes tell stories or talk about other things not pertaining to the lesson.
Ms. Chelsea is an excellent teacher! She is patient, supportive and really knows how to motivate her students. Ms. Chelsea is great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging through various activities; that improve writing, reading, and conversation skills. In addition, she is a very thoughtful teacher who puts a lot of work into presenting the material. Her passion and dedication are beyond words! I would highly recommend her!
Chelsea is engaging, patient and fun. Our student enjoyed her sessions with Chelsea very much!
Chelsea is amazing!! She is very patient and finds creative ways to keep your child engaged.
My daughter, Rianna (1st grade) started a weekly, one hour math tutoring session with Chelsea about a year ago. She completely customizes the tutoring session for Rianna and challenged her in many positive ways. She not only teaches her to master age appropriate (and beyond) math skills but also helps her built more confidence. She has the quality that every parent looks for in their child’s teacher. Chelsea talks to Rianna, asks her questions, makes her cared and heard, which I believe goes a long way. She is always punctual and provides a very detailed summary of each lesson so you are well informed. Rianna now says math is her favorite subject and she looks forward to the session every Friday.
Ms. Chelsea is a great teacher. She is engaging, supportive, and fun! My son (Ian, 7 years old) has met Miss Chelsea twice a week for a math session and reading & writing session for the last 9 months. He always enjoyed meeting with her on Zoom and showed great improvement!
Overall we really love the Braintrust tutoring program, and the detailed lesson reports that are sent immediately after the class that show our child's progress and what he learned, as well as areas where he needs more practice or is struggling.
But specifically, Chelsea has done an amazing job tailoring our child's lesson plans to the topics that he currently is focusing on in his class, or the ones that he needs extra assistance with. She is very patient with our son and he appears to really enjoy his time with her as Chelsea works to create an environment where learning is fun. We are very happy and have already committed for a full year of tutoring with Chelsea, and we look forward to seeing how Braintrust can enhance our son's math experience.
