Greetings! My name is Chevonne Knight and I consider myself a super duper special needs tutor. I have been teaching for the past 12 years, holding certifications in both New York and Florida. I am certified to teach both general elementary K-6 and exceptional student education K-12. As a teacher and tutor for grades K-2nd, I provided academic intervention to build the foundational skills to promote early reading and math skills. While teaching in grades 3-5 I provided test preparation/intervention in both reading, writing, and math. My life’s passion is working with children, especially students with special needs.. After relocating to Florida, I started teaching and tutoring the upper grades in preparation for the FSA. This past school year, I taught Kindergarten and tutored children from K-2nd grade afterschool. My teaching, tutoring and intervention practices have been rated highly effective throughout my teaching career. In my teaching I utilize a student-centered approach and incorporate visual aids to boost engagement and learning. My approach is to differentiate instruction based on my students needs and provide instruction that engages and makes learning fun for all ages. I live in Cape Coral with my husband, my 6-year old son and our bulldog Rambo.
