I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and over 14 years of experience teaching and tutoring students in Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. After earning my Bachelor's Degree, I taught in a private school in the Philippines from 1999 to 2009. During those years, I handled advisory classes in the elementary school and taught mathematics and other academic subjects from the 1st to the 6th grades. Aside from the advisory class and teaching loads, I was appointed Head of the Elementary Department from 2004 to 2009, and in charge of the school's discipline committee for four consecutive years. After school hours and on the weekends, I did private tutorials in all major subjects in elementary school, and taught in Sunday Schools for the children and the youth ministry. To transition my career from in-person to online, I took a TESOL course and acquired a certification with a grade of 'Distinction' in January 2020. From 2020 to 2022, I worked as an independent contractor at Education First (EF-Kids Online) and taught ESL online to students in China. I was the 'Teacher Feature' of the week in EF's Weekly Digest, released on May 7, 2021. I started online tutoring with Braintrust Tutors in 2022, and was chosen for the 'Tutor Spotlight' feature on their Facebook account in February 2024. I have also been a volunteer 'Math' tutor at Heart Math Tutoring since 2022. To enhance and fortify my knowledge and teaching competencies, I took an online SPED course and received my certification in May 2024. I also took a LessonSpace Online Teaching Course and acquired a certification in August 2024. I have the perfect setup for all the technical requirements for my online teaching. I successfully helped my students build strong foundational math skills and achieve incredible learning growth in grammar, phonics, reading, spelling, and listening skills in the English language. These credentials and experiences make me an ideal internet teacher for elementary-grade students.
