Emily Waldman is a well-rounded educator who has experience working with children of all abilities and ages from kindergarten to twelfth grades. Emily's journey began at 8 years old, when she chose to play the viola ... and the rest is history. From playing viola, Emily learned about the discipline, determination, and perseverance needed to become a great musician. These are the qualities she passes on to her students. Emily's first job out of college was as a substitute teacher. Praised by a principal in Long Island for establishing terrific rapport with students and staff members, and for her ability to keep students attentive and engaged, Emily became a highly requested substitute. After substituting for three years, Emily became a music teacher at the Lower Lab School in Manhattan. Here, she teaches students how to play string instruments and the language of music. Ms. Waldman is known to be a creative teacher who is able to make learning fun and interesting. Emily holds a Bachelors in Music Education (K-12) from Temple University and a Master's in Childhood and Special Education (Grades 1-6) from Touro College.
