I recently retired from teaching in the public school system at the elementary level. My last several years I was a K-3 reading interventionist. I am well-versed in the science of reading and utilized many different programs based on student's needs. I also have attended many professional development trainings focused on SOR, reading intervention, assessment and data collection. Although I retired from a brick and mortar setting, my passion for teaching students how to read has not waivered! I have the ability to connect with students from a variety of demographics and socio-economic backgrounds. I enjoy substitute teaching at our local school district and can stay abreast of current educational practices this way. I also tutor privately throughout the school year and during the summer.
