Bio
Hi I'm Heather! I am an educator of 17 year with the New York CIty Department of Education. I am currently an Academic Intervention Services Coordinator for a district in the DOE. I currently ensure that students receive reading intervention that meet their learning needs. Prior to this I was a Universal Literacy Coach and an elementary school classroom teacher. I have tutored both in person and remotely. I have studied the Science of Reading for the past 4 years and prefer to work with students who need explicit phonics and fluency instruction. It is so exciting when a student who doesn't like and struggles with reading, finally has the tools they need to read for enjoyment and with confidence.
