Hello, My name is Jamie and I am a passionate, credentialed educator, who loves to see my students succeed. I have a BA in child and adolescent development from California State University of Northridge. Additionally, I have my multiple subject teaching credential and a Masters in Education from California Lutheran University, and a credential and Masters in administration from Concordia University of Irvine. I have taught for 9 years in the following grades: 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades, and have substitute taught in all elementary grade levels. While completing my Masters in Education, my thesis focused on creating a positive classroom climate. I am a firm believer that in order for a student to be successful, they need to feel supported and believe in themselves. Through creating positive communication with my students, they are able to thrive both socially and academically. I enjoy using technology to teach and love finding ways to incorporate it into my lessons, whether it be through using online manipulatives (tactile tools), online resources, or Kahoot!. I am excited to teach lessons that create confidence in my students and allow them to take academic risks in an emotionally safe environment. My favorite part about teaching is seeing students grasp a concept that is being taught. Seeing their lightbulb moment creates so much joy for me.
