Hello! My name is Janet Ballard, and I am a recently retired teacher with 28 years of experience. I have taught the following grades: 4th, 2nd, 1st, Kindergarten. My specialization is in early childhood. I absolutely love teaching reading and writing! I use Secret Stories to create a social/emotional connection to help them remember the sounds letters make when they get together. I also implement Super Improvers from Whole Brain Teaching to motivate students to set goals and improve their academics and/or behaviors. I especially love tutoring groups because students can learn from each other, it's more fun for the students, and I am able to play educational games with them. I look forward to helping my tutoring students succeed!
