HI, my name is Jen Powder, and I am a reading specialist with 22 years of experience in grades K-8. I am certified in Wilson, and Brain Friendly,Reading. I have also been trained and delivered Really Great Reading, Sonday, Great Leaps, Recipe for Reading, and Leveled Literacy Instruction (LLI) reading programs. My focus and passion is working with my dyslexic students helping them overcome the trauma they have endured. I love developing a relationship with my students, to get to know them and their likes, dislikes, strengths, and weaknesses. I am truly delighted and in awe of my students when they finally break that reading code!! All students can learn to read, we must have the 3 P's patience, perseverance, and passion!! I am my student's biggest cheerleader beside their parents of course!!! I am looking forward to working with you and your child to break that mysterious reading code! I am completely vaccinated and willing to tutor in person at my home, or remotely.
