Bio
My name is Jessica Brotherton... aka Ms. Jessi. I’m a 3rd-generation teacher with a passion for my job. I have been a teacher for 9 years and have worked with children from Pre-K to 5th grade. My B.S. degree and teaching certificate are in Early Childhood Education, so my lessons are crafted with high expectations and rigor while maintaining developmentally appropriate practices.
I was trained in the Orton Gillingham approach through Brainspring and have used Science of Reading methodologies and UFLI in my classroom. My classes have successfully helped many children with learning difficulties bridge academic gaps, grow their confidence, and develop an excitement for learning. Learning can and should be fun! Children understand and retain the most when they engage multiple senses and enjoy the process.
I love to travel, explore, and learn about new cultures. I taught in Guatemala for 7 years and can’t wait to go back! When I win the lottery, I will open an animal shelter. I have reached maximum capacity of adopted animals!
