I'm Jochebed, a native New Yorker from Brooklyn. I am an early childhood, elementary, and bilingual educator. I became an educator to contribute something powerful back to my community. Teaching and learning in an academically focused environment have taught me a great deal, particularly that teaching and learning are not linear, but dynamic. A meaningful education strengthens the diverse assets students and teachers come into the classroom with by connecting them to their local culture and environment. Additionally, my teaching experience has instilled a constant drive for my own development, as I see the immediate results it has on student achievement.
