BS, BA in Psychology with Honors, Distinction, Summa Cum Laude
After graduating in 2019 from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Psychology, I began working as a 2nd Grade Integrated Co-Teacher at a high-performing Charter School in Manhattan. Most recently, I served as a 4th Grade Teacher in a General Education classroom at this same school. Come September I will be pursuing an MA in Childhood General and Special Education, Grades 1-6, at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. Through my experiences teaching and tutoring both in-person and remotely, I understand that effective instruction hinges on a balance of rigor and joy. This knowledge coupled with my work ethic, flexibility, and unwavering positive attitude would, I believe, be an asset as a tutor. I have worked with youth populations ages five through 17 both in a classroom setting and remotely. In addition to planning comprehensive lessons and delivering differentiated instruction, I use quantitative and qualitative data to adapt in real-time to students’ needs. Furthermore, I can leverage technology effectively to augment academic progress and social-emotional development. I deliver creative, quality instruction while simultaneously fostering strong relationships with students founded on a shared belief in their success. Over the past three years I have developed relationships with students founded on the pursuit of academic excellence and a steadfast love of learning; my students’ curiosity, grit and strength of character have only strengthened my commitment to them and to a career in this field. I am a diligent, detail-oriented worker who can create an environment optimal for strong academic and interpersonal outcomes. If hired as your tutor I am confident that my insights and skills will allow me to promote growth and an enduring love of learning.
