Hi! My name is Kayla, and I am a graduate of James Madison University. I got my bachelors in Elementary Education, and I am a fully certified teacher. I have worked with kids all throughout my career including being a camp counselor, a teacher’s assistant, a preschool teacher, and a coding instructor. I also have been an online tutor while in college as well as after. I now currently work with a nonprofit that provides programming for girls 3rd-8th that is a combination of physical activity and socio-emotional skills. I love working with kids and making lessons fun and engaging. It’s always my goal to build off of my students’ interests and help them feel as special as possible. Building relationships are essential when working with kids, and I always want to make the tutoring space a safe place where students feel like they can take risks and make mistakes.
