Hello! I'm Kia Johnson, a dedicated math educator passionate about making numbers come alive for my students. With 22 years of experience in the education field, I've had the privilege of guiding countless students to unlock their full potential as well as the opportunity to empower novice to veteran mathematics teachers. My journey in mathematics began when I realized the joy of seeing the light bulb go off when students reached their "ah ha" moment. Since then, I've been committed to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for math in every student I work with. As a math tutor, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, explore concepts, and embrace challenges. Whether it's algebra, geometry, or any other math topic, my approach is always tailored to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student. I believe in building strong foundations, encouraging critical thinking, and instilling confidence in my students to tackle any math problem with ease. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending time with family, reading books, and playing competitive kickball. I'm passionate about helping students succeed in math and beyond, and I'm excited to embark on this learning journey together!
