Hi! My name is Kimberly Riley and this is my third full year teaching in NYC in the DOE. I graduated with my masters degree in special education and general education (grades 1-6) in 2019. I have worked with kids since I was 16 as a babysitter and nanny. I knew immediately I wanted to be a teacher. Throughout college, I worked in a nursery school as a preschool teacher and enjoyed my time there greatly! I started at my current school just before the world shut down and dove right into virtual teaching, where I learned more about technology and education than I thought possible! I teach in an ICT (integrated co-teaching) setting as the special education teacher and I absolutely love it. I started my career in 2nd grade, where I then taught first grade the following year. Last year I taught kindergarten (& LOVED it!) and this year I am back where I started- in 2nd grade. It brings me such joy working in early childhood education and seeing the growth each student makes. Every student is different and learns best in different ways, and I always strive to cater to each student's individual needs.
