Hello! My name is Krista McLean and I am currently working as a PreK-6th grade literacy coach/reading specialist. My job consists of researching reading development, collecting and analyzing data, providing interventions for struggling readers based on that data, as well as working with classroom teachers to help improve reading instruction in the classroom. Before becoming a literacy coach/reading specialist I was an elementary school teacher. I spent 2 years teaching a combined K-2 classroom, 3 years teaching 4th grade, and a year teaching 3rd grade. I've been in my current position for 3 years now. I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2013 and I'm currently working on my Master's Degree through the University of New England. My husband and I have 3 wonderful children, two girls ages 9 and 3 and a boy who is 6. We are a very active family and are involved in many extracurricular activities. My husband and I enjoy coaching our daughters soccer and basketball teams as well as volunteering to help with our son's soccer team. I am very excited to begin working as a tutor!
