BS, Special Education + General Education, Minor in Counseling
Hi there :) I graduated from Indiana University in 2018 with a double degree in Special Education and General Education. I was a Special Education Teacher in Chicago for the past three years. I am committed to children and making sure all of their needs are met. My expertise is in differentiating instruction to make all content accessible for students. I am patient, self-confident, resourceful, persistent, professional, internet savvy, enthusiastic, results oriented, adaptable, and compassionate. Being a highly adaptable and a versatile educator, I have enjoyed the opportunity to teach a diverse group of children, including those with ADD/ADHD, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, speech impairments, noncompliant behavior, learning disabilities, and physical challenges. These experiences have helped me blossom into a well-rounded and compassionate individual who takes each student's unique goals, needs, and interests into account. My greatest capability is facilitating, all styles of learners. I developed multi-sensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learners. I also incorporate various form of technology, learning centers, manipulative, and thematic units to teach new concepts and materials. Furthermore, I make certain that each child receives individualized praise and encouragement, ensuring the student remains motivated and does not become frustrated or quit. I have taught online all year and have mastered a variety of programs to help meet students needs virtually, in a fun and engaging way. I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my extensive experience and skills would benefit the students in and out of the classroom. I find multiple ways to teach a single topic to best reach students' varied needs and learning styles. I have a sense of humor and I love to find opportunities to laugh and have fun create a cheerful environment for students. Looking forward to working with you :)
