I love fostering relationships with students to learn how to connect their interests to learning. I have a Master's in Education, with a focus on Learning and Instruction, from Northeastern University. I've worked in Education for 18 years and my specialty is in English and the Social Sciences. I've taught English to K-8 students online since 2016, as well as worked in physical schools teaching Leveled Literacy Instruction to emerging readers. I enjoy supporting English learners to find context clues in text they might find challenging. My greatest love is in helping students to understand how to engage in all types of writing and reading, from informational text that they might find boring, to creating a persuasive argument. The greatest moment is when I see the "lightbulb" go on for a student. Their confidence soars when they start to understand and succeed at something they previously found challenging!
