As an educator, coach, director, and team leader, I have always encouraged my students and staff to “live their dreams.” I speak from experience. Following my dreams has provided me with a wonderful professional life in the worlds of both private and public education, as well as in the business and non-profit sectors. The particulars of my diverse professional experience in New York, Philadelphia, and Phoenix, along with my passion for inspiring young minds, have made teaching young minds an absolute joy and a privilege for me. My classroom settings have been wide in range, starting in Middle School at Mastery Charter School in West Philadelphia and most recently as Head Fourth Grade Teacher at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, New York. In between that, I taught Middle School at Pardes Jewish Day School in Phoenix. I maintain many relationships with the families I had the privilege of working with throughout my career in three states. Even today, I am in regular contact with students and their families. It is a privilege to see the progress my former students make in their secondary school settings and beyond. I believe strongly in dynamic education that engages children in the type of thought-provoking work that will assist them now and, more importantly, in the future. I am dedicated to meeting kids’ individual educational needs through mindful differentiation. At Poly Prep, I worked with the Director of Diversity and Equity on social awareness programs for students and faculty. I was the facilitator of diversity and equity meetings at our Lower School. It was an important time to be able to participate in these actions, and I look forward to continuing this type of work in my next school setting as time allows. Combining my enthusiasm for education with my ability to inspire life-long learners is my passion and I would be proud to work with you and your family.
