I recently retired from teaching after 20+ years and am excited to use these experiences to tutor students online in English/Language Arts/Reading. During my career, I have taught in various capacities in the elementary and middle grades. These include 2nd and 3rd grades, the Early Intervention Program K-5, the Gifted Program K-5, and 6th and 7th grade Reading. I have completed 50 hours of Orton- Gillingham training. I have a Master's Degree in Reading, Language, and Literacy and have effectively assisted my students in raising their reading levels. I have experience as a virtual classroom teacher during the COVID-19 epidemic. As a private tutor, I discovered that online teaching allows me to focus more on my student/s without all of the classroom distractions and thus affords me the time to more accurately assess, plan, and implement the lessons that meet my students' individual needs.
