Bio
Hello. I am a recently retired teacher with 39 years of experience in the classroom. My degree is a Bachelor of Science, with clear teaching credentials of Multiple Subjects, and Specialist Instruction Credential in Special Education. I taught special education at different levels, with students with many different special needs. Mostly I taught mild/moderate, but I also taught hearing impaired students for 8 years. Although I've taught many subjects over the years, mostly I taught English and Reading. I had special training with the Read 180 Program from Scholastic.
I loved my teaching career, mostly the connection I was able to make with the students. Watching my students' skills improve gave me a sense of fullfillment. I miss those things about teaching since I retired, so I thought tutoring would be a great way to continue using my teaching skills, and helping more students.
A few years ago I moved from Southern California to Northern Nevada. In my free time I like to play pickleball, hike, ski, travel and quilt.
