Bio
The best teachers don’t use workbooks: instead they take the time to design sessions around an individual’s specific literacy needs. My name is Matthew and I am passionate about helping others be the best readers and writers they can be! I have over six years of experience as a English teacher in New York City schools. Whether you are looking to fill the learning gaps created by the covid-19 pandemic, or develop the skills you need to be college and career ready, my kind and professional approach will foster a true love of learning!
My past is deeply rooted in the written word. Growing up, the teachers who engaged me in powerful conversations about literature, and who urged me to express my ideas in writing made a profound impact on me. I have since decided to dedicate my life to this same cause as a full time teacher of record in the NYC public school system. Since then, I have had experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages!
