Melissa is currently a reading specialist for the Ossining UFSD, private tutor, and GED instructor for Suny Orange Community College. Melissa graduated from Boston University with a major in Early Childhood Education and Masters of Education in Reading and Literacy, Magna cum laude. Melissa has been teaching for over 20 years. The first few years she taught 3rd grade and Pre-K and worked for a private tutoring company. Currently she works with students with learning differences. Melissa is consistently researching and exploring new techniques to better mentor and guide her students, some of whom learn best with non-traditional teachings. She is passionate about helping her pupils overcome challenges in their daily life, which often increases their self-confidence. Watching her students reach or even exceed their full potential is why Melissa became a teacher. She is trained in PAF and holds a Wilson Level 1 Certification. Melissa loves spending her free time with family.
