Hello! My name is Nicole Utecht and I am a teacher. Ever since I was a kid, I have had a passion for learning. When it came time to pick a career, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Becoming a teacher gave me the opportunity to inspire students to love to learn and help guide students towards success. I love teaching because I feel fulfilled watching my students flourish with their education, grow in their confidence, and have fun while doing it. The best part of my job is seeing the positive impact my teaching has on my students' academic and social development. I earned my Master's in Education and my teaching certifications (General education grades K-6 and English grades 7-12) from the University of New Haven. I moved back to my hometown on Long Island after I graduated and got my New York teaching certification. Since then, I have taught grades K-12 in ELA, math, science, and social studies. I was a third grade classroom teacher, a special education teacher for grades K-5, a substitute teacher grades K-12, a tutor for grades K-12, and a teacher for adults with special needs.
