Hello! My name is Paola Encina, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this wonderful tutoring community. With extensive experience in the field of education, I bring a unique blend of creativity, empathy, and dedication to every student I work with. I am certified in Theatre EC-12 and have had the pleasure of teaching Theatre Arts to 6th-8th graders for two years. During this time, I collaborated closely with teachers to integrate English Language Arts and literature into our theatre curriculum. My efforts to create a fresh, vibrant program from scratch included developing innovative lesson plans focused on team projects that foster creativity and problem-solving skills. Additionally, I have significant experience working with ESL students and those on IEP or 504 plans, ensuring tailored support to meet each student’s individual needs. For the past three years, I've been working as a substitute teacher, gaining diverse experience across all grade levels from Pre-K to 12. While my primary assignments have been with Pre-K to 1st grade, and special education, I have embraced opportunities to teach in inclusion and self-contained classrooms as well. My role often involves working in dual language programs, where I deliver lessons in both English and Spanish, and provide support in areas such as phonics and reading through centers, small groups, and one-on-one instruction. One of my greatest joys in teaching is helping students who struggle achieve their goals. I take pride in creating an environment where every child feels heard, supported, and capable of expressing themselves. Witnessing their rewarding moments of accomplishment and growth is truly inspiring.
