MS, Teacher Education: Elementary
I am a graduate of The University of Virginia. I received my Master's Degree in Teacher Education, with an endorsement in elementary education (K-6). I received my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Since graduation, I have worked in Fairfax County Public Schools, located in Northern Virginia. I have been teaching 2nd Grade for 3 years.
Additionally, I have been a private tutor since 2017, tutoring English Language Learners and students needing intervention in math and reading, grades K-6. I have experience working with students in large class settings as well as small groups settings. I also have over a year of virtual teaching experience, as I taught full time online during the pandemic. I enjoy finding fun and creative ways to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. I have experience teaching reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. I am a firm believer in building relationships with students and learning about their interests to make learning relevant and increase student engagement and participation. In my spare time, I enjoy reading biographies and history books, watching documentaries, visiting museums, playing tennis, and going for bike rides with my family.
