Randall graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Studies. She later received her master’s degree in Special Education (7-12th grade), summa cum laude from Hunter College. Randall is certified to lead restorative circles to help develop students emotional and social growth and support their interactions with peers. She has also worked with top executive functioning and coaching organizations to help students develop a tool kit of strategies that are transferrable to all school subjects and beyond the classroom.
Randall began her teaching career in Sunset Park High School in Brooklyn where she taught a variety of subjects and led a mentorship program for grades 9-11. She led multiple professional development workshops for staff on learning differences and student engagement. She then taught 7th grade ELA at Wagner Middle School on the Upper East Side in Manhattan and worked as the Special Education Coordinator to ensure teachers were meeting the needs of multiple types of learners. She helped differentiate materials, modify instruction, and develop targeted assessments to ensure students were given multiple opportunities to learn and express their knowledge of content and concepts. She left Wagner after 6 years to become the Assistant Director (Assistant Principal) at Fusion Academy in Brooklyn. At this unique and non-traditional private school, she had the opportunity to coach teachers on how to best customize learning for a one- to -one education model. She transitioned to Director of Admissions and Outreach to collaborate with various private schools in NYC, as well as therapists, neuropsychiatrists, educational attorneys, and educational consultants to build a network of support for her families.
Randall started Strategies for Success, an after-school club to support students with executive functioning skills and academic support. She helped students develop critical thinking skills and habits of mind as well as organizational support, time management, task initiation, etc. to support their growth and to help foster student independence and confidence. She worked with students (and parents) to unpack IEPs so that students can become their own advocates and understand how they learn best as well as to monitor progress towards achieving their goals. Randall has tutored students in literacy to improve reading levels through explicit reading comprehension and analysis instruction. She has also worked to help students through the writing process and improve writing skills through a foundation, application, mastery approach.
Most recently, she developed an innovative online school for ICL Academy, in which she designed, developed, and implemented a learning framework and all materials needed for grades 7-12, including student intervention plans. She helped customize learning to meet students’ preferences, but also tie in students interests (such as sports, dance, theatre,) to increase motivation and understanding of material.
In her free time, Randall loves to be with her family and friends that she is super close with! When is not overindulging over brunch or dinner pans, she can be found at the gym or running in the park! Randall does not like to let too many people in on her comedic roots, but she used to perform stand up comedy and still enjoys providing comedic relief to her friends, family, colleagues, and students if need be!
