My name is Sally Corum, and I’m from a very small town in Southern Indiana. I grew up teaching swim lessons and coaching the local swim team, which I now realize had a huge impact on my career today. It’s where my love for teaching first began. In 2014, I graduated with a degree in mathematics from the University of Louisville where I tutored the NCAA basketball team, as well as taught in a math lab. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Los Angeles and started working for Aspen Learning Lab, educating students ranging from the age of 4 to 18. My passion is math and science but over the past five years, I've had the opportunity to teach literature, social studies, psychology, photography, and all elementary and middle school subjects. I have a wide range of teaching experience from creating customized curricula to working with accredited online schools and local independent study programs to prepping students for standardized exams. I love connecting with my students as they all bring something incredibly special to the relationship. I’m continually learning from them and always trying to understand where a student is at, both academically and emotionally. This helps me customize my lessons and create an engaged learning environment for my students, and that’s one of the things I love most about one-on-one tutoring.
