I am a veteran teacher with decades of classroom, private one on one and small group experience for elementary aged children. I have helped students achieve their academic desires by providing enjoyable lessons that boost their self-confidence. I approach each student differently, noting how they process information. Then I present concepts in a multitude of ways until the information clicks. Finally, I observe where disconnection between concepts occurred, and I help to connect a pathway between them. I have tutored students to a high level of competency through the skills that I teach and am able to adjust my tutoring style to match a student’s learning style. I know how important it is that students feel confident in their work and how to approach a problem from multiple angles.  I am equally as passionate as an educator as I am about mindfulness. Teaching students educational concepts along with the importance of being mindful and dealing with emotions is the most current form of my life’s work in developing thoughtful, caring humans. Teaching mindfulness to children improves attention span, resilience and emotional regulation, which has a tremendous impact on academic success.  I am enthusiastic about tutoring because it allows me to easily transition into exactly what a student needs in the moment without me having to manage the needs of an entire classroom.
