Hello! My name is Miss Shelly. I have a background in Speech and Language Pathology and a passion for teaching. I've found a way to bring these together with online tutoring. I have 6 years online teaching experience with hundreds of students and 15+ years teaching my own children and children at our local homeschool co-op. My ability to create a comfortable and engaging learning environment, combined with my commitment to making learning interactive and enjoyable, has consistently attracted positive feedback from both students and parents. I am aware of the the many different ways a student can learn, receptive to their strengths and/or weaknesses, and adjust my teaching strategies accordingly. In my classroom, I use gentle correction, celebration of successes, patience, and encouragement to help my students gain confidence. I like to find creative ways to engage and interact with my students to help them stay focused in class; and I use energy, relationship-building, and the inclusion of student’s interests to create a more relaxed environment that is conducive to a successful learning experience.
