Bio
Xiomara Hall is a dedicated educator, researcher, and advocate with extensive experience in teaching, compliance, and policy development. Currently a special education teacher in Maryland public schools, Xiomara is passionate about creating equitable educational opportunities for all students, particularly those with disabilities.
In addition to classroom experience, Xiomara serves as an adjunct faculty member at American University, where she supports aspiring educators. She previously worked as a compliance coordinator with City Teaching Alliance, guiding teachers in Washington, D.C., through the process of earning their teaching certifications.
Xiomara is a doctoral research student at Drexel University, where she studies education policy with a focus on special education teacher burnout and systemic inequities in service delivery under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). She holds a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Bowie State University.
A dual-certified educator in early childhood education and special education in both Maryland and Washington, D.C., Xiomara leverages her diverse skill set to support students, families, and educators. Her work emphasizes the need for increased federal funding and equitable policy implementation to address disparities in underfunded school districts.
When not teaching or researching, Xiomara enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three children, finding inspiration and balance in her family life.
With a deep commitment to advocacy, teaching, and research, Xiomara continues to empower students and educators alike, working toward a future where educational policies and practices foster equity and excellence in every classroom.
